A hotspot is a defined region over a drawing. It can show a label, open a link, display a detail image, or connect to application data when a user interacts with it.
Which examples are available?
The site includes a Navajo County plot plan, a Minneapolis Skyway map, and an office floor plan. Each example uses a different kind of drawing and demonstrates how areas can be made interactive.
Can I use the images and code in production?
Review the ownership and license of every asset before reuse. These pages are demonstrations and include replacement artwork where original historical assets were unavailable. A production implementation should use drawings and data that you are authorised to publish.
What formats can be used?
CAD workflows commonly begin with DWG, DXF, or DGN files. The suitable conversion route depends on layers, blocks, attributes, text, scale, output type, and the application that will consume the result.
Why does a local preview differ from a hosted site?
Some web servers apply rewrite rules, caching headers, MIME types, or security policies. VS Code preview opens the actual relative files, while a hosted deployment may expose clean folder URLs. Test both the file paths and the server configuration before publishing.
